Farnham Charity Bike Ride
A fun event for all – cycle a circular route at your own pace through beautiful, local countryside
Essential Reading
We very much hope that you will join our Charity Bike Ride and persuade your friends to either join you or sponsor you. We know you will enjoy the day and in turn help us to raise money for worthwhile local causes.
25-mile ride - it is strongly recommended that children under 10 be attached to adult's bicycle, e.g. bike seat or tag-a-long, as there are some steep hills and it's a long way! It is solely the responsibility of the named adult rider below to decide whether children under 16 years old are sufficiently competent and fit enough to complete the ride.
50-mile ride – this is a testing ride and not recommended for children under the age of 16.

On the Day of the Ride
From 9am...
- Please register on arrival at Upper Hart car park and collect your Rider Number so that we know who is on the road. We cannot confirm your worthy efforts unless we know you've started!!
- Remember, Rider Numbers must be worn on your FRONT so marshals can see it and bring safety pins to hold it on.
The ride will start at 10:00am prompt. Please allow time for your registration so you are ready to set off at 10.
- There are 2 starts for each ride:
- Elite Riders - expecting to complete the 25-mile route in under 90 minutes or the 50-mile in 3 hours.
- General Riders - for everyone else
- Additional riders will be able to enter on the day but we will have to charge them the higher registration fee. Better to get them to register beforehand!
- All riders must be registered and away by 10:30 am as we have to get the Finish ready!
- Don’t ask friends or family to drive around the course following you in cars. Get them to go on ahead, before the start, and cheer you on at one of the stages en route. We expect a large number of Riders on the road and the Police have asked us to keep the number of “camp followers” to a minimum.
- Make sure your bike is roadworthy, safe and serviceable.
- Don't forget to bring with your entry number, helmet and anything else you might want during the Ride.
During the ride, please remember -
- It is not a race - the aim is to enjoy the Ride and raise money for local charities.
- Be considerate of other Riders, particularly at the start when everyone is bunched together.
- If you have a younger rider with you and have agreed to supervise them, they are entirely your responsibility. Don't ride off ahead and leave them, even if they are a little slower than you would prefer.
- If your bike breaks down or if you want to pack up, stay with your bike by the side of the road until a Marshal arrives. Please don't go home without telling a Marshal or we could waste a lot of time looking for you.
- Refreshment points will be positioned around the course but you might want to bring some drinks with you, especially if it is a hot day. Still drinks are best and we strongly advise against drinking any alcohol before or during the Ride.
- The Marshal and Refreshment points will be well signposted on the day.
- Please abide by the Highway Code - you do not have priority over other road users.
- Continue to wear your safety helmet.
When you arrive back at Upper Hart Car Park
- Please aim to return to Upper Hart Car Park by 15:00 and check in with Ride Control. They will present you with your Certificate to show your sponsors.
- Leave carefully and responsibly. Remember other riders may still be arriving - DO NOT CROSS their path
- Please don't just forget us - WE WILL BE NEEDING YOUR SPONSOR MONEY!!
The days following the ride
- Please gather the money in from your sponsors as quickly as possible.
- Please use the special paying slips provided in your 'rider pack' at any branch of Barclays.
Please don’t use any other paying in form
THANK YOU - GO CAREFULLY
HAVE A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE DAY
