Please help them to help others

The charities listed below provide a variety of much needed services to people in the Farnham area and help us promote the event. Please support them either through getting sponsored or making a donation.

The list is not exclusive, riders can support another charity, school or the Farnham Charity Bike Ride itself – the proceeds of which are allocated via Farnham Round Table to a wide variety of local charities and causes.  Click here to see recent recipients.

  • Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice
    Providing care and support to patients, carers and families affected by a terminal illness (such as cancer, heart, lung or neurological disease) across West Surrey and North East Hampshire. We offer a compassionate and caring approach, with a range of services enabling patients, carers and families to live life as fully as possible.
  • 3rd Farnham Scout Group
    Active Beavers, Cubs and Scouts groups combining exciting activities, new friends and adventure. We’re raising funds to complete the renovation of our 200 year old Daniel Hall HQ creating a fantastic community facility. Scouting helps children and young adults reach their full potential, developing skills like teamwork, leadership, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment.
  • Alzheimer’s Society
    Alzheimer’s Society is the leading support and research charity in the UK for people with dementia and those who care for them. There are over 25,000 people living with dementia in the South East of England and the services we provide are a vital tool in enabling them to live well with dementia.
  • Change of Scene
    We provide life-changing educational/respite/leisure experiences for disadvantaged children whose social/emotional/behavioural difficulties cause them to be excluded/expelled from mainstream education. Working with them 1:1 on a 16-acre Farnham small-holding, the children are helped to fulfil their potential, are enabled to return to sustainable education and have more promising futures.
  • Citizens Advice Waverley
    An independent charity helping people resolve their legal, money and other issues by providing free, independent and confidential advice – valued at £750,000 pa.  We have saved over £10M through helping local clients secure financial entitlements, avoid homelessness, reschedule debt.
    Has a vision of a world where no-one suffers from the painful genetic skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Until then, we offer specialist care to those who need it. We give support to people and families affected and provide real hope for the future by funding pioneering research to find a cure.
  • Eagle Radio Trust
    Supports charities, individuals and non-profit making organisations to improve people’s lives in 96.4 Eagle Radio’s broadcast area. We raise funds ourselves, publicise and celebrate the work of charities and good causes in our broadcast area. The Trust has raised £75,000 since 2007 and aims to raise £100,000 by the end of 2015.
  • Junior Diabetes Research Foundation
    The type 1 diabetes charity. We fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes; provide information for children, adults and parents living with the condition, at all stages from diagnosis and beyond and we campaign for increased focus on, and funding for, research to find the cure.
  • KatCanDo
    Founded in 2004 to raise funds for the purchase of equipment and services in the treatment of local cancer patients not always provided by the NHS.  Over £167,000 donated to local facilities including: Basingstoke, Farnham and Frimley Park Hospitals; Phyllis Tuckwell and Christophers Hospices.
  • Parkinson’s UK
    Over 8,000 people in SE England are affected by Parkinson’s but no-one has to face it alone.  We rely totally on donations to fund our vital research projects, extensive support network and information services. Local groups are in Farnborough, Haslemere, Alton and Guildford.
  • The Brain Tumour Charity
    The UK’s leading dedicated brain tumour charity. We fund scientific and clinical research into brain tumours and provide support and information to those affected, whilst raising awareness and influencing policy. Our aim is to improve understanding, diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours.
